Start here
Use the Frick Pond access at the end of Beech Mountain Road identified by DEC.
Terrain & what to see
A woodland pond circuit using the marked approach and loop. Stay on the designated trail rather than widening muddy areas.
Pond scenery, reflections and time for close-up woodland photographs.
Before hiking
Save the official map before driving and name Frick Pond in your invitation. Allow for muddy footing and a comfortable return. A friend familiar with another loop from the same access should not assume that is today’s itinerary.
Landscape & trail notes
DEC lists a 2.1-mile round trip using the red approach and yellow pond loop. Connecting trails are different outings, not required extensions.
After the hike
Use Livingston Manor as a planning base for the drive and check any post-walk stop independently. An unlocated pond photograph can still make a good profile memory without an invented point on the map.
