Start here
Locate the Coventry Pond trailhead on the NPS map. Millbrook Village is a nearby planning reference, not the trail’s starting point.
Terrain & what to see
The route follows an old road trace and is rated easy to moderate by NPS. Return along the same path from the pond.
Watch for the contrast between the wooded approach and the open pond destination. Wildlife sightings are a possibility, not a promise.
Before hiking
Check road and trail conditions before leaving. The NPS description lists restrooms at Millbrook Village, so do not assume a facility waits at the pond trailhead.
Landscape & trail notes
The road once served the Coventry Gun Club. NPS describes beaver construction at a breached dam as part of the pond’s more recent story.
After the hike
Share a quiet detail as well as a wide view. If you later visit Blue Mountain Lake, compare the feel of the two walks without treating their different trail networks as equivalent.
