Red Hill Fire Tower from Denning Road

DEC describes a 1.4-mile connection to the final half-mile tower trail: 1.9 miles outward, or about 3.8 miles returning the same way. Keep this approach separate from Dinch Road. A trailhead choice should be settled before the drive, particularly when a seasonal road is involved.

Before hiking

The older Dinch Road access is seasonal and not plowed in winter. This entry does not transfer that approach’s ascent figure to Denning Road. Check tower status and current road information before departure.

After the hike

Use the existing Red Hill destination to log a visit. If you are pursuing the annual fire-tower challenge, use the actual hike date and that year’s organizer rules.
