Catskills Fire Tower Challenge: Hikes, Maps & Progress
Find the Catskills Fire Tower Challenge edition, tower hike guides and progress tracker. Save your original hike dates and plan your next tower visit.

Start with the edition you are completing
This page is the permanent starting point for the Catskills Fire Tower Challenge. Each annual edition keeps its own checklist and dates. Follow the published edition below and its official DEC link for the current rules and application instructions; HikerQuests records your progress and does not issue the patch.
Build your tower plan one hike at a time
Open each destination for the route source, approach information and dated community conditions. Save towers you want to visit and download the available map coverage before leaving reception. Tower access and route conditions can change independently, so check official notices before departure.
Keep the hikes you already earned
Import your older GPS exports or add a visit manually with the original date. Linking a recorded hike to a tower is a self-reported visit, not automatic GPS certification. An earlier year’s hike stays in your history but does not become a visit for a later annual edition.
Collect the patch and the story
Add previously earned patches to My patches with the year you received them. Add your own tower photos and trip notes to the corresponding activity. If you choose public sharing, review the route’s endpoint privacy and submit the activity for moderation.
