The D&H Canal Historical Society’s Five Locks Walk interprets the canal landscape at High Falls. The museum and visitor center offer a complementary place to learn how the transport system worked. A lock is easier to understand when you picture boats being raised or lowered between levels. Look for the relationship between the channel, changes in ground level and surviving masonry as you follow the interpreted public walk. High Falls is a separate town outing, not a promised stop directly on the SRT. Check the museum’s current visiting information and leave enough daylight for the drive and walk. This starter map set does not cover the High Falls locks.
