Rock Rift & North Overlook at Mohonk

Plan around this outing

Rock Rift and the North Overlook are the subjects named in this HBTrails upload. The matched destination page offers a way to continue reading after watching. Keep the two together in a saved plan so the next visit is based on a named route rather than a general idea of hiking at Mohonk.

Keep the route and the memory together

Scramble footage can make a route look very different depending on the camera angle and editing. Decide using the current official route information and your group's abilities. Keep permission, conditions and the return route in the plan, and describe any sections you skipped when posting a trip report.

The match uses the published title and verified HBTrails channel metadata. It is not a turn-by-turn route, a verified full-section completion or a current condition report. Publication date may differ from the date of the hike.

Make your next visit useful to the next hiker

Record the route you actually walked, the date and a specific observation: a muddy stretch, a turnaround or a clearly identified viewpoint. Explain what changed your plan. Add your own photos to the destination record and keep precise condition reports attached to the place you observed them.
