Hunter: a tower with more than one chapter

Hunter area · Catskills

Town / regional context. The reference point is approximate; this story is not tied to your exact GPS position.

1900s · 1953

Hunter’s observation history began with a log tower in 1909. Its steel replacement moved to the true summit in 1953. Look at the view as a working panorama: what could an observer see, and what might the ridges conceal? This town-area point is not the trailhead. Open a route guide and check current access before setting out.
