Import Strava Hikes: GPX, FIT & Your Hiking History
Bring exported Strava and other GPS hikes into HikerQuests. Review original dates, select challenge visits and control how routes and photos are shared.

Use files you export from your account
HikerQuests imports GPX, TCX, KML, GeoJSON and FIT files, including supported activities inside ZIP and gzip files. Download your recordings from Strava or another service first, then open Import. This is a file importer, not an automatic connection to your Strava account.
Review the date before saving
Files with usable timestamps suggest a completed hike; undated files suggest a planned route. New York time is selected initially when interpreting timestamps. Confirm the actual date, especially for overnight recordings or trips in another timezone. A saved route without a completed visit should not add challenge credit.
Link the destinations you really visited
After saving, select the towers, peaks or sections you completed. The importer does not claim summits from GPS proximity. Batch imports remain private and do not automatically attach challenge visits. Older hikes retain their original dates and are evaluated against each challenge’s date requirements.
Choose what others can see
Review the public route preview and endpoint radius before submitting a recommendation. Public sharing also requires a public profile and moderation. Add photos separately: photos and the Strava activities.csv file are not automatically matched to your tracks.
Keep a portable copy
You can export saved route geometry as GPX, KML or GeoJSON and download the journal as CSV. Public route exports use the same privacy trimming as the public map. Keep your original exports if you want a copy of fields that HikerQuests does not import, such as health measurements.
