Upper Esopus Fire Tower: The 2022 Hike

Plan around this outing

Not every item on a fire-tower checklist has to be treated as the same kind of mountain day. HBTrails labels this film as an Upper Esopus visit for the 2022 challenge. It is an archive entry to enjoy and compare with your own visit, not evidence of completing a later annual edition.

Keep the route and the memory together

Use the current destination source to locate the visitor facilities and permitted walking routes. If you combine this stop with another hike, log the two visits separately and retain their actual dates. This keeps the memory accurate and the challenge record easier to understand.

The match uses the published title and verified HBTrails channel metadata. It is not a turn-by-turn route, a verified full-section completion or a current condition report. Publication date may differ from the date of the hike.

Make your next visit useful to the next hiker

Record the route you actually walked, the date and a specific observation: a muddy stretch, a turnaround or a clearly identified viewpoint. Explain what changed your plan. Add your own photos to the destination record and keep precise condition reports attached to the place you observed them.
